Jay Gregg was born and raised in rural Florence County.  He grew up hunting and fishing with his Father, Jimmy Gregg and his brother, Charlie.    They hunted family and public land throughout his child and young adulthood.  Bubba Mathews, Jay’s Uncle, introduced him to Salt Water fishing and Jay has been hooked on that ever since.  His love of the outdoors got him a summer job in high school with the DNR working with biologists in the Pee Dee Area.

Jay has been married for 12 years to Kim Gregg.  She also loves the outdoors and has recently starting deer hunting with Jay.  Their twin girls, now 8 years old, are being brought up to enjoy the outdoors and are learning conservation from an early age.

 When Jay is asked to go hunting, he usually asks if he can bring the girls, just like his father used to take him and his brother.  Jay loves all outdoor activities and is enjoying meeting new people and seeing new places with South Carolina Outdoors.
